With a career spanning five decades, Vergara is a landmark of BrazilIAN CONTEMPORARY art, in constant research to create a mirror of nature. Creating sculptures, paintings, photos and installations, he is a total artist. In constant mutations, he INITIATED the ‘Mangue Series’ in 2010, based on manguezais de Barra - TYPICAL MANGROVES OF THE ATLANTIC FOREST, it is an homage to THE nature’s structures and layers, emphasizing the organic forms in order to demonstrate how vibrant and ephemeral nature is. James on the Quadrado selected three black and white WORKS ON PAPER from this series, showing nature’s bodies as shadows projections - Immutable plants anchored for posterity.
